Mobilizing Young People to Advance Appropriate Scientific Approaches to Sustainable Development

Citizen Science, the science and technology program of SustainUS, is committed to raising awareness in the United States of existing and emerging technologies designed to improve economic, social, and environmental conditions for current and future generations. Citizen Science attempts to bring together the many areas of science for a widely diverse, complex, and exciting arena to support the science behind the policy of Sustainable Development.

Goals

Citizen Science aims to provide a platform for young people to engage in and share scientific knowledge as it relates to sustainable development. In particular, we aim to inform the sustainable development policy debate, both inside and outside the SustainUS membership, with accurate and accessible science.

Getting Involved

If you are interested in the Citizen Science and want to get involved or kept updated with our activities subscribe to our emailing discussion list or feel free to contact the current Citizen Science Coordinators.

Other opportunities:

In order to promote SustainUS's goal of increasing the youth voice in sustainable development, Citizen Science encourages the attendance of youth to scientific and ecopolicy conferences in the US.  SustainUS members are encouraged to attend conferences in their region, and upon SustainUS' approval, can serve as representatives of the organization. Interested in attending an upcoming conference?  Want to learn more about representing SustainUS?  Contact the Citizen Science Coordinators.
