SustainUS is a 501(c)3 nonprofit, nonpartisan organization of young people advancing sustainable development and youth empowerment in the United States. Through proactive education and advocacy at the policy-making and grassroots levels, we are building a future in which all people recognize the inherent equality and interdependence of social, economic, and environmental sustainability.

Bali Delegation Announced!

This December, the SustainUS Agents of Change program will send a delegation of 22 students and young professionals to the U.N. Climate Negotiations in Bali, Indonesia. Chosen from a highly qualified pool of applicants, our delegates represent the diversity, enthusiasm, and skill of the youth climate movement in the United States.

Since June, the delegation has worked to educate themselves and members of their communities about the issues that will be discussed at the negotiations, develop and present policy recommendations to the UNFCCC, and coordinate with international youth.

Read on to learn more about our Bali delegates. If you would like to assist the delegation in its policy preparation or outreach efforts, consider joining the Agents of Change Policy and Planning Committee.

Newsletter May 2007

We are proud to release our first newsletter [PDF] summarizing the last several months.

Our president Cat Manzo summarized the newsletter well:

Over the past 6 months, SustainUS has continued to grow and strengthen both its national programs and actions at the local level. We have realized thoough, that often the success of a SustainUS activity is only known to those directly involved. This news letter is a space to highlight the activities of the organization and provide updates to SustainUS members, supporters, and donors. Newsletters will be published on a regular basis and will help increase communication between all areas of the organization. From all of us here at SustainUS; enjoy the newsletter!
