SustainUS is a 501(c)3 nonprofit, nonpartisan organization of young people advancing sustainable development and youth empowerment in the United States. Through proactive education and advocacy at the policy-making and grassroots levels, we are building a future in which all people recognize the inherent equality and interdependence of social, economic, and environmental sustainability.

 
Layout and RSS

The first of several coming layout changes have been made. An RSS feed is now enabled for front page news. Feeds are to the left on the navigation bar under Syndicate.

 
Now Accepting Applications for CSD

Applications are now available for the SustainUS delegation to the 15th Session of the United Nations Commission on Sustainable Development, taking place at the United Nations Headquarters this April. This year, policy related to the hot topics of Climate Change, Energy for Sustainable Development, Air Pollution/Atmosphere, and Industrial Development will be debated - and there's a space for you at the table!

 

UPDATE: The application period is now closed and delegates have been notified of their acceptance. Stay tuned for more information about the delegation!

 
Maine Climate Summit at College of the Atlantic

Get ready for an engaging weekend at COA on Mount Desert Island. This year we will be focusing on building the Maine youth and student climate movement through education on:

  • Climate science
  • Technologies to combat climate change
  • The role of youth in decision making in their communities, on campuses and at the state, national, and international policy level
  • And much more!

2007 Citizen Science Paper Competition has begun

The Citizen Science 2007 Technical Board is now accepting papers in a competition for youth to be published in the Citizen Science Online Journal and to present their science at the 2007 United Nations Commission on Sustainable Development. Papers are due by February 15th.
