Discussion Lists for National and Local Members
At the local level, SustainUS
members participate in a variety of region based geoclusters. Currently, we have active local groups in Boston, Maine, Minnesota,
New York City, Philadelphia, and Washington,
DC. We're always on the lookout for people who want to start a new geocluster in
their area.
What is a Geocluster?
Let's break up the word: Geographical Cluster.
These are groups of people interested in sustainability that live in the
same city or region of the
U.S.
Because the members of each cluster usually have distinct interests, depending
on the issues important to their region, each cluster typically works on
individual projects in collaboration with SustainUS nationwide.
Geocluster members meet regularly to share information, get the scoop on
fun local events, and spend time with other like-minded youth.
Members also organize events and programs of their own, from conferences
to parties to interactive educational forums.
Outside of major cities, however, Geoclusters members may be so dispersed
that it is difficult to meet regularly. These
regional Geoclusters focus more on representing SustainUS at conferences,
events, etc. in their area and on serving as a contact for young people in the
region who are interested in SustainUS activities.
If you're a new SustainUS
member, join your local geocluster! It's
a great way to get involved.
For more information about how to join an already exiting geocluster, select the region closest to you from the Geocluster Menu on the left. If you would like to start a new Geocluster in your area, select "Start a Geocluster"; from the main menu.

National Level Involvement
SustainUS also runs several national campaigns; members from our geoclusters communicate via email lists and conference calls to plan these campaigns. So, if you're involved locally, you can take the next step and get involved nationally. Or, if there is no local group in your area, you can jump right in and participate in our national
campaigns.
For a full lists of our current projects and campaigns, select "Programs" from the main menu.
As a national group, SustainUS
communication relies heavily on email lists.
For the full list of SustainUS email lists and information on how to join
them, select Mailing Lists from the Main Menu at the left.
