CHANGE A LIGHT, CHANGE THE WORLD:

SustainUS-DC is a pledge driver in the Energy Star Change a Light, Change the World Campaign, meaning that we would like YOU to get involved! Change out your incandescent light bulbs for more energy efficient CFL's and start doing your part today. In addition to the lower greenhouse gas emissions and longer life, CFL's use less energy, saving you money. To take the pledge click here.

Sustainable map of DCSUSTAINABLE DC MAP

SustainUS DC has over the years focused on creating and maintaining a map of sustainable enterprises in DC. After collecting ideas, contacting businesses, researching sustainability criteria, and developing a template...we launched our preliminary map at an event attended by over 100 people!

Due to popular demand we are working with Flagger to make our map more interactive. Please click here for a Beta Version of the map of sustainable enterprises in Washington, DC. Email Katherine with questions or comments on the map, including if you want your business or organization to be on the map! Also for more information on the reasons for which select businesses/organizations are included on the SustainUS Sustainable DCity Map, click here [you guessed it: another PDF file].

SUSTAINABLE LIVING GUIDE

The Sustainable Living Guide is "a community effort that addresses the concerns of the citizens of greater DC". We need your help to find out what you and your neighbors think of sustainability and the Sustainable Living Guide. Please take a brief moment to complete this Survey. If you have further questions about the SLG, contact Joel Lawrence Steinberg.

SustainUS members hosted this event in Washington, DC to provide a public space for people to learn about the United Nations actions that address climate change and to discuss the role of United States youth in international and local actions on climate change. The event was held on Saturday, November 19th from NOON - 2:00pm at Busboys and Poets on the corner of 14th and V Street.
