CodeAneri Patel is a rising senior at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, majoring in International Studies and a minor in Environmental Studies. Recently completing a semester program in Washington, D.C., she interned at the U.S State Department in the Bureau of Oceans and International Environmental and Scientific Affairs. She will be working on an international energy assessment project in England this summer. She is heading Congressman David Price’s 2006 campaign at UNC, whom she interned for in Washington. She is also involved with the United Nations Association-Student Alliance as Publicity chair.


CodeCailey Gibson is a junior at Carleton College in Northfield, Minnesota where she majors in International Relations with an Environmental Studies minor. She is especially interested in the role women can play in sustainable development and spent her junior fall semester in France, studying Agenda 21. A 2005 Morris K. Udall Scholar, she is one of the presidents of her campus' environmental group and is currently working on making Carleton a carbon neutral campus. Cailey likes to spend time with her family in Vermont and loves traveling and music.


CodeChristi Electris is from Minneapolis, MN and currently lives in the Cambridge, MA where she is pursuing dual Masters degrees at MIT and Tufts. After finishing her Bachelors in Computer Science at the University of Pennsylvania and working for two years, she decided she wanted to use her technical background to improve policy making in technical domains. At MIT's Technology and Policy program, she is focusing on knowledge and technology transfer to developing countries, and at the Tufts' Fletcher School, she is concentrating on international sustainable development and Southeastern Europe. Christi currently works as a Research Assistant with MIT's Global System for Sustainable Development group.


CodeDominic Frongillo is a lifelong resident of Caroline, NY where he works for Program of International Nutrition at Cornell University and the Planning Dept. of Tompkins County. Dominic graduated from Cornell's College of Human Ecology with an independent degree in Community Development Policy. A Cornell Urban Scholar, Dominic has worked for the Association of Communities Organized for Reform Now in Brooklyn, NY, and has worked for a community development program in rural Costa Rica. Dominic also serves as an elected Councilmember in the Town of Caroline.


CodeDominic MacCormack is currently a senior at the University of California, Davis and is pursuing a degree in Environmental Policy Analysis and Planning. Born and raised in San Francisco, Dominic recently completed a semester abroad learning and exploring at the University of Tasmania in Australia. Having loved his work as a science educator at the California Academy of Sciences for five years, Dominic has plans to pursue a career in environmental education and advocacy.



CodeJeremy Emerson is a native of Columbus, Nebraska. He currently studies at the University of Nebraska-Lincoln pursuing a Master of Architecture and a Master of Community and Regional Planning. Jeremy has won numerous scholarships at UNL, including the prestigious Peter Kiewit Distinguished Scholar's Award. A former college wrestler, Jeremy has worked at HDR Architecture for the past two years. He recently helped establish the UNL Emerging Green Builders that brings young architects and engineers together to work towards a sustainable future.


CodeJessica Lin is from Warren, New Jersey and currently is a freshman at Harvard University, majoring in government. In high school, she was founder and president of her school’s chapter of “Kids Can Free the Children.” This international organization of children helping children builds schools and provides educational tools and medical supplies to kids in developing countries. Jessica is currently involved with the Harvard International Development Organization, helping to organize the first IMPACT Summit this past February. She has also recently been granted a Harvard Center for International Development Fellowship to be a WorldTeach Volunteer this summer in South Africa.


CodeJin Lee is a native of Seoul, Republic of Korea and currently lives in Washington, DC where she works as a Research Associate at the Center for Clean Air Policy, an independent think-tank that promotes climate and air quality policy through analysis and dialogue. Prior to her work at the Center, she received a B.A. in Geography and Environmental Biology from Colgate University. Jin's leadership in heading Colgate's student environmental organization has continued in Washington, DC, where she developed a map of sustainable businesses with the DC geocluster of SustainUs, a national youth network for sustainable development.


CodeJustin Saydell was raised in Cleveland, Ohio and currently lives in Moscow, Idaho where he is a senior pursuing his undergraduate degree in Conservation Biology. His interest in environmental and social responsibility stems from learning about the slaughter of seal pups for the fur industry when he was in second grade. Justin has an Associates degree in Fish and Wildlife Management from Hocking College in Nelsonville, Ohio. He is currently the ASUI Director of Sustainability at the University of Idaho where he has been working on developing a student-led center for sustainability as well as a sustainability grant fund for student-led projects.


CodeMauricio Hernandez is a native of Bogota, Colombia and currently lives in Washington, DC where he works for the Education Component at the National Council of La Raza. Born and raised in Colombia, Mauricio attended his last years of high school in Miami. He graduated from Florida International University with a double B.A. degree in International Relations and Geography with a minor in Latin American Studies. Mauricio has worked the Organization of American States, where he focused on third world development issues. Currently Mauricio is working on publishing an analysis on the relation between Chilean politics and feminism.


CodeRegina Randall is originally from Holy Cross, Alaska. She is currently attending the Semester In Washington program in Washington, DC. Aside from taking two classes at GW in political management, she is an intern at the National Congress of American Indians. Regina graduated from the University of Hawaii at Hilo with a B.A. in psychology. She wishes to pursue a career as an advocate for Native American peoples in the U.S. Regina plans on attending graduate school at the George Washington University in the near future; she would like to pursue a masters degree in political management, with an emphasis in Federal Indian Policy.


CodeSameer Kamal, originally from Karachi, Pakistan, is currently a Chemical Engineering undergraduate at the University of Texas at Austin. A Student Leadership Award and Outstanding Student Volunteer Award recipient, Sameer’s main area of interest is the application of engineering skills and knowledge towards sustainable development. As President of the UT Austin Chapter of Engineers for a Sustainable World, Sameer played a key role in organizing the “Sustainability as Security” international conference in October 2005. A student organized event, the conference drew about five hundred students, academics and professionals for a global dialogue on poverty and sustainable development.


CodeSohail Razzaq has been a Youth Ambassador for Pakistan at various international platforms addressing the theme of Sustainable Development, Public Policy and Private Investments in Developing countries. Currently, Sohail is a student at Stanford University, CA pursuing a bachelor’s degree in Management Science and Engineering. Sohail has served as the founder and national coordinator of a national campaign called ‘Beyond Borders’ aimed at awareness building amongst the youth about sustainable development, negotiating with the government and finding private funding for rural electrification programs based entirely on renewable energy.
