Ellen Loubert is a sophomore at the University of Michigan going into public policy, specific to the environment and inequality. In her sparse free time Ellen can usually be found organizing for a protest, reading a good book, hiking, making music, or cracking a joke. She hopes that this commission will be successful in laying out tangible ways to improve the status of women the world over, as well as focus on the many ludicrous forms of discrimination women in her home country, the United States, face. Ellen was raised in beautiful northern Michigan and spent her childhood exploring natural areas and building vast amounts of compassion for the world’s forests, creatures, and her fellow humans that has lead her to work in the realms of environmental and justice-based activism.
