As a senior at American University, Madeline is studying International Relations with a focus in Peace, Conflict Resolution, and Global Security and Women’s and Gender Studies. She believes women play an integral role in conflict resolution and peace building and is channeling this passion at her current internship at the Office of Global Women’s Issues at the State Department. Madeline grew up in Maine and spent last year studying French and International Studies at Sciences Po in Paris and in Rabat, Morocco. She’s also held internships at the UN Foundation, Vital Voices, and l’Association Voix de la Femme Amazighe in Morocco. After graduation in May, she hopes to pursue a career that would allow her to work in the field of gender-based violence prevention and global security. In her spare time, Madeline enjoys reading, painting, and hiking with her dogs.
