The day after Obama rejected TransCanada’s proposal to build the Keystone XL tar sands pipeline, TransCanada announced plans to sue the United States under trade rules established in NAFTA for $15 billion.
It is absurd TransCanada is allowed to claim taxpayer money because of a pipeline rejection. Let’s fight the TPP and the TTIP which give more fossil fuel companies rights to sue over policies enacted to protect communities.
