This piece was made as part of "The Revolution will be DIY" for Borderlands, a participatory art project on migrant justice in Stockton, CA.

California is a sanctuary state, yet ICE (Immigration and Customs Enforcement) continues its raids and detentions that violate human rights for immigrant communities. Ecological diversity transcends borders, and the same should be true for people – especially while recognizing that U.S. trade policies and corporations are responsible for displacement from their countries of origin in the first place. Farmworkers in the Central Valley have felt the impact recently, and we stand in solidarity with those who are unjustly being targeted.

"Towards Climate Justice" - This piece was made for an artivism daylong intensive and panel in Salt Lake City, Utah.

I made this piece thinking of my sister and my niece, whose birthday is close to Earth Day (she was originally expected then). This character represents Mother Earth – she cradles both the planet and her future being in her body. Why do we do this work? To fight for the world that makes our lives possible, and for those whose lives are still ahead. Holding this reminder as we work to make climate justice possible.
