This Spring, SustainUS is sending a delegation of 8 young people from across the U.S to the World Bank Annual Meetings in Washington, D.C. for a second time. They have come together to advocate for a fossil-free future built on affordable, renewable energy and sustainable development. Delegates will stand up to ask difficult questions at high-level panels, and participate in actions pushing the World Bank to answer to the mission written across its headquarters: end poverty. This is a follow up to the commitment the World Bank has made to divest from fossil fuels after 2019. They join a powerful coalition of NGOs and community groups from around the world advocating for development banks to make a Big Shift away from fossil fuels. The focus will be ensuring all peoples have access to clean, sustainable energy by 2030, in an effort to accelerate sustainable development goal 7.
