Alexis Hidalgo was born and raised in Miami, FL where she saw first hand the effects of climate change. Wanting to know more about these issues and be able to take action, she received Environmental Science and Global Environmental Politics degrees at the University of California, Berkeley. She is very passionate about environmental justice and during her time in college she organized around inclusion and diversity in the environment as well as food and housing security on campus. After graduating, she moved to Washington, DC to work with Food and Water Watch as a National Campus Organizing Associate to help students organize around environmental justice issues on their campus.
