Qomaruliati Setiawati (Ruli) is a sophomore at College of the Atlantic studying Human Ecology, a mix between economics and politics. Originally from Indonesia, she was awarded a scholarship to finish her last 2 years of high school at Pearson College United World College (UWC) in Victoria, Canada. Together with 159 other students from 82 different countries in UWC, she learned a lot about peace and sustainability.
In March, Ruli was College of the Atlantic Delegation to the 61st session of the UN Commission on the Status of Women (CSW) at the UN Headquarters in New York. Having seen communities that are impacted by climate change in Indonesia, she hopes to gain a better understanding of the role of financial institutions in promoting or preventing global climate justice.
