Xaver Kandler

UNSG 2019 Climate Summit Delegation

As an environmental organizer and movement builder, Xaver deeply believes in the power of intentional personal relationships. Raised in Pittsburgh by a German father and a Jewish Californian mother, Xaver is passionate about social movement theory and practice, organizational culture, and intersectional climate justice— much of which was nourished while getting a degree in Environmental and Urban Studies at Bard College.

Currently, Xaver is the Campaigns Associate for Environmental Advocates of New York, focusing on digital organizing and building cross-movement partnerships. Xaver is grateful to have learned from mentors and colleagues during his previous work at NY Renews, the NRDC’s Environmental Justice Program, and WEACT for Environmental Justice. In his free time, Xaver can be found backpacking, rock climbing, playing ultimate frisbee, birding, and making chai with loved ones.
